People with this condition will complain about having shortness of breath, excessive sweating, muscle tension, and headaches. They may also feel like they have chest pains or gastrointestinal problems. This disorder affects women more than men, but it is a common one regardless.

While there are many types of anxiety disorders out there, they all have some common symptoms. These include:

  • Fear

Fear is the most common symptom of all anxiety disorders. Any situation or object can bring this on that they are fearful of in their environment. It can even include a fear that they will have a panic attack.

  • Heightened sensitivity

This is another common symptom of anxiety disorders. People with anxiety disorders may become overly sensitive to certain sounds, images, smells, or even the overall environment.

  • Muscle tension

Muscle tension is another common symptom of anxiety disorders. Feelings of fear and worry can bring this on that something terrible will happen in a situation or situation that they are not used to, causing a sense of panic and fear.

  • Headaches

These are generally caused by a combination of the symptoms listed above. It is another common symptom that is a result of the anxiety experienced by those with anxiety disorders.

  • Shortness of breath

Some people with anxiety disorders may have shortness of breath, or even chest pains, even though they are not physically doing any strenuous activity.

  • Nausea

Some people may experience nausea when they feel panic and fear, resulting in vomiting. This symptom is also common for those who suffer from motion sickness.
